Kami Goertz is a self-educated art maker with a focus on character design through the making of toys as art objects and sculptures. She is inspired by nature, popular culture, vintage fabrics, colors and the idea that laughter truly has medicinal qualities.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in Germany, the US and Canada, as well as published in magazines focusing of the creators of plush toys. She attended the Pictoplasma Academy Master Class in Character Design, in Berlin, Germany in 2016 and is a member of the Tiny Hand Collective.
Kami's plush work can be found in shops in Winnipeg and Brandon as well as a few local craft shows and exhibitions throughout the year. She has a studio in Winnipeg's historic exchange district that is open to visitors by appointment. She is happy to work on commissions and is open to collaborations.
